About our journeys

Trinity Episcopal Church, Greece, NY applied for and was funded by the Lilly Endowment with a Clergy Renewal Grant awarded in 2007. This grant provides the rector the Rev Donald Hill and his wife (and parish Music Director) Nancy Woodworth-Hill with a three month study leave.

Their journey is based on the image of a labyrinth. That is a sacred journey to the center which is not a direct route.  The journey to the center and return is less about the goal and more about the journey.

Don & Nancy will be taking the time to become involved with and to study Franciscan, Benedictine and Native American spirituality and spiritual practices. They will travel mostly by train (slower pace) and will stay at several national parks and in spirituality and retreat centers along the way.

They will take their leave from the parishes on Sunday July 27th and will be welcomed back on Saturday November 8th at a special Welcome Home dinner.

Trinity and St. George's are also on a journey. Their journey is also one to find God at the center. It is a journey inward to gather, and to honor the parish community and its giftedness, and then to move outward beyond the walls to invite others to share the gift we have found.
