Working With

Discovery Time Students

There is never a dull moment for the AIW Committee.   They are now busy with 2 projects involving the Discovery Time students.   The Youth Group is in the process of learning a new Christian Rock song to be offered during a service in April.   Short rehearsals are being held during their class period on Sundays.   The AIWC is also setting up a schedule to work with all of Trinity’s students on their annual theme song.   This song will be presented on recognition Sunday.   In the meantime, there is a lot to learn and rehearse.   If this weren’t already a lot, they are looking into providing a hands-on experience at our annual pig roast.   The fun never ends.   The committee will also be involved in planning our Summer Arts Sundays activities as well.   Why don’t you consider joining us.   We could certainly use the help.   Ask any committee member about how you can become involved. (Dorothy Romanet, Cherie and Jack Dobberstein, Nancy Woodworth-Hill, Don Hill, Bridget Martin, Marion Montstream, Debby Williams, Kim Branco, Richard Russnow and Pamela Fitzmorris)   We have so much fun!

Mark Your Calendars

The Puppet Ministry Committee (PMC) has a meeting coming up and you are invited.   We will be meeting on Sunday, March 23rd right after coffee hour, downstairs in the Discovery Time Learning Center.     We will be looking at our mission statement and creating a plan for implementation.   This will include enhancing our beautiful new theatre, creating new scripts, planning for the annual pig roast and more.   We run a fast and efficient meeting so that you can still enjoy your afternoon.   The PMC members are a lot of fun too.   So come on down.   The puppets would love to see you!

THOUGHTS ON FASTING….a quotation, Arthur Lictenburg, Episcopal Bishop

Fast from criticism, and feast on praise.

Fast from self-pity, and feast on joy.

Fast from ill-temper, and feast on peace.

Fast from resentment, and feast on contentment.

Fast from jealousy, and feast on love.

Fast from pride, and feast on humility.

Fast from selfishness, and feast on service.

Fast from fear, and feast on faith.

The above is one of the way-of-living/ way of thinking quotations that I keep in plain sight on my refrigerator….next to our daily calendar.  It never fails to have some bite to it, sort of like my allergy shots….good for me, but a bit painful.

Preschool News

During this Lenten season the Four-Year-Old class has been learning the Lord’s prayer in anticipation of Easter. It always seems like a daunting task to learn all those words, but they are doing a great job!

In March the children will be focusing on large muscle activities in the parish hall. They will be learning ball skills, somersaults, and hoola hoop twists. They will be using tummy scooters, hopping balls and a trampoline to show off their fantastic abilities.

At the end of the month parents are invited to the Lamb School Olympics which is a non-competitive group of activities set to music. Each child will receive a gold medal at the end. We always look forward to this fun day!

The Three-Year Old class will be learning about Under the Sea animals. They will get to hear stories, make some “fishy” crafts and examine shells, seahorses, starfish and sand dollars.

If you would like to hear more about Lamb School we would love to talk to you. Our number is 225-8026. There are still a few openings in our two Three-Year-Old classes for September 2008. This year we added an afternoon class on Tuesdays and Thursdays in addition to the morning Three-Year-Old class on T/Th. Your child should be 3 by December 1st to enter. It is not necessary to be completely toilet trained. The Four-Year-Old class is full for the fall.

St. Patrick's Day Prayer

Looking for some blarney gold?

Perhaps it's already within!

"We come to you with open heart
May we receive what you impart.

You tide us over through our days
And help us in so many ways.

We strive to give with care and kindness
Through trust in love, with thoughts of oneness.

Our worldwide home becomes our family
As one to one we act most kindly.

A circle of love, a home of peace
A planet in harmony, where conflict has ceased.

Sisters and brothers, young and old
Give of your hearts - that's blarney gold
